Meet the Orthodontist
Welcome friends, welcome to our web site and to my practice. I look forward to the beginning of a wonderful relationship that will lead you to a healthier, happier, and more confident smile.
Becoming an orthodontist is something that I chose even before I was in college, while undergoing orthodontic treatment myself. The combination of art and science, the impact on other’s lives, and the long-term relationships with patients and their families was just what I wanted in life.
I am a lifelong learner, having spent time as a student, practitioner, and teacher to acquire and share the knowledge, skills, and judgment that directly benefit you, a member of my patient family. My passion for being the kind of doctor I would choose for my own family shows in everything I do. My staff and I are known for our friendliness and integrity. The warm relationships that we develop with our patients and their families are very important to us.
Our office uses quality state-of-the-art equipment, so you not only receive the best service, but also the best technology available. We offer many different brace choices, including Invisalign and Clarity self-ligating brackets, and also offer the latest in radiographic imaging utilizing a Cone Beam CAT scanner (far more information at basically the same radiation). We strive to run our office efficiently and effectively with our patients in mind.
As with most orthodontists, I was at the top of both my college and dental school classes. I joined the U.S. Air Force to hone my dental skills in a general practice program where I hoped I would be chosen for sponsored specialty training. My efforts and test results were rewarded with the opportunity to train at Case Western Reserve’s orthodontic program (as well as my first AF Commendation Medal).
During my 12-year Air Force career, I was honored to serve as a Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General, and as staff orthodontist at both Walter Reed Army and Bethesda Naval medical centers as well as two Air Force medical centers. During these tours, I received two more Air Force Commendation Medals and a Meritorious Service Medal (the highest award in peacetime) and was promoted to Lt. Col. prior to going into private practice.
I chose to return to my home in NE Ohio in 1988 to raise my family and to fulfill a promise to my old instructors at Case by joining the faculty in the Department of Orthodontics. In my 20 years as clinical professor, I’m very proud to have been involved in the education of over 100 orthodontists and honored twice as instructor of the year. More recently I have been invited to speak at universities and professional meetings nationally and internationally.
I can’t imagine another job that I would like as much as being an orthodontist nor one that would match my God-given talents any better.
I truly love what I do and I invite you to become a part of my patient family.
